Making Profit Happen
The owner of a business-to-business company was frustrated. Sales were taking off, easily increasing every year, but it wasn’t as much fun as it used to be. He was tired of the bickering and the conflict. From his point of view, his management, staff and sales team were just so . . . needy. By nature, he was a positive person, but some days he just felt like walking away. He reached out to Surrender, Inc. to help navigate through his challenges in hopes of recognizing some opportunities.
The Surrender team identified the business owner’s unique perspective and strengths and clearly explained it to the rest of his team. When they understood his leadership style, conflict declined almost immediately. They no longer expected him to fit their idea of what a company owner “should be.” Further, Surrender reviewed the characteristics of each individual team member with the owner and generated options for both a development path and a custom method of supervision for each person. Some people were transferred to positions where they would be more successful and happy. No one was terminated.
- The owner adopted the new supervision and motivation techniques.
- People were happier.
- Work started to be fun again.
Surrender continued to coach the owner on developing the business and participated in management meetings. Revenue doubled in the first two years after our solutions were implemented, setting a foundation for revenue to double ten more times.
